Correction and Retraction

Educator Development Journal (EDJ)

Educator Development Journal (EDJ) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal takes appropriate action when errors, ethical concerns, or serious problems are identified in published articles. Corrections and retractions are handled transparently and in accordance with publication ethics principles.

1. Corrections

A correction may be published when an error is identified in a published article and the error affects the accuracy, clarity, or interpretation of the work but does not invalidate its main findings or conclusions. Examples include errors in author information, affiliations, data presentation, figures, tables, or other relevant content.

The editorial team will assess the reported error and determine whether a correction is necessary. When a correction is approved, the journal will publish a correction notice describing the error and the changes made. The original article will remain accessible, with an appropriate link to the correction notice where applicable.

2. Retractions

A retraction may be considered when an article is found to contain serious errors that invalidate its findings, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other significant violations of publication ethics.

Before making a decision, the editorial team will examine the available evidence and, where appropriate, seek clarification from the authors and relevant institutions. Retraction decisions will be made based on the seriousness of the concern and the available evidence, with due consideration for fairness and research integrity.

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction. The original article will generally remain available for the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as retracted, with a link to the retraction notice.

3. Reporting Concerns

Authors, readers, reviewers, and other members of the academic community may report suspected errors or ethical concerns regarding published articles to the editorial team. Reports should include sufficient information or supporting evidence to allow the journal to assess the concern appropriately.

4. Editorial Responsibility and Transparency

The editorial team is responsible for evaluating reported concerns, documenting decisions, and ensuring that any correction or retraction is communicated clearly to readers. All actions will be taken objectively, consistently, and in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Educator Development Journal (EDJ) is committed to safeguarding the scholarly record through responsible editorial decisions, transparent correction procedures, and appropriate retraction practices.
